Members are welcomed and encouraged to observe and participate in up to two General Meetings before being required to jon the Chesapeake Treasures Chapter of the Smocking Arts Guilde of America (SAGA).
Membership requirements in the Chapter are simple. Each member must serve on one committee through the year, participate in the public service projects, and take part in a fundraiser activity as established by the Chapter. In addition, concurrent membership in SAGA is required of all Chapter members. This enables the Chapter to take full advantage of all the programs and services offered by SAGA.
Chesapeake Treasures Chapter Library. Membership benefits include access to the Chapter's Library which currently holds many needle arts books, patterns, and smocking plates. In addition, issues of Inspirations and Australian Smocking & Embroidery.
SAGA Correspondence Courses. SAGA Correspondence Courses are designed for students who are not able to partiicpate in SAGAs conventions. The courses will enrich the student's knowledge of techniques while working at her own pace.
SAGA Programs. SAGA Programs are designed to share the resources of SAGA members by providing chapters with pre-planned programs that they can adapt to their chapter meetings. The goal of each program may be for education, chapter growth and development, and just plain fun.
Retail Discounts. Membership in the Chesapeake Treasures Chapter and SAGA affords members percentage discounts at JoAnn Fabrics nationwide, Tomorrow's Treasures in Crofton and Classic Creations in Crofton.
